Accountability and SafetyPersonal relationships will form between those helping and those receiving help. A natural accountability will occur that will ensure those getting help really need it. On the other side, considering the accountability of those offering the help, they will be working with other Christians and neighbors regularly. Those knocking on doors (V-Team) will be meeting people constantly. The V-Team members will be following up on the neighbors on their adopted streets. The idea is that no one will be working alone, so there will be a very public nature to the whole network which should help it to "self monitor" those that are offering the help as well. Obviously common sense and integrity are required in this as in every area of life. Those that want to do wrong and abuse others will do so with or without a network. There is a point where we must press on pass the liability consciousness of our society and do what God has commanded us even if there is a risk. God never promised Christians a life or a witness without risk and danger. He said their would be imposters mixed in with the true followers. We aren't commanded to sort them out, but to leave that job to Him in the end. PrivacyBecause there are peoples' needs and contact info, this database is not public. Only LYNC Network members can see the Service Team Forums where the needs are. All Christian neighbors are invited to join though and everyone has their own user name and password, so sensitive information should not be posted online. |
